Strength and Conditioning

CardioStrong class austinOur Strength and Conditioning Class is a combination of classic strength training movements and conditioning work.

HOW WE’RE DIFFERENT:

Strength and Conditioning Class is taught by experienced fitness coaches – there’s a strong emphasis placed on learning proper technique and executing perfect form on every rep.  (We don’t measure success by the number of torn callouses at the end of the workout).

Classic strength training movements are done at the beginning of the training session – when you’re fresh and can maintain proper form and technique (classic strength movements includes things like squats, bench press, deadlifts, overhead press).  Since the goal of the strength portion of the workout is to make you STRONGER, we keep the reps low and the weights heavy.

Once you’ve completed the strength-specific portion of the training session, you’ll begin doing conditioning work.  Conditioning work includes things like the Prowler, Battle Ropes, Steelbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls (no barbells here).  Conditioning work means the weights are lighter and the reps are higher – this is the part where you suck air and sweat buckets!
