When Amber joined GrassIron in the summer of '21, she originally focused on learning basic barbell movements, so things like squats and deadlifts. After about 6 months, she got bit by the Olympic Weightlifting bug, and she hasn't looked back!
For the past year, Amber has focused all of her energy on becoming technically proficient and stronger in the competition lifts: the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk.
After about 8 months of lifting with the Weightlifting Class 3 times a week, she decided to take it up a notch. She added 2 additional training sessions. During these sessions, she's focused exclusively on making technical improvements. And needless to say, it has paid dividends!
At the end of the most recent training cycle, she set a new Personal Record with a
72.5kg CLEAN & JERK!
